Mr. Kilgore was a Patrick Henry Scholar while attending Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with his main focus in Political Science. Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree, Mr. Kilgore attended the University of London where he worked towards a Master’s Degree in Political Science. He then returned home to Texas and attended Texas Tech University School of Law, receiving his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2005. Mr. Kilgore is also a graduate of the Leadership Denton Education program, where he has participated not only as a participant, but also as a Co-Chair and Chair –Elect. He was General Chairman of the Program for 2014-2015.
Mr. Kilgore began his career as an attorney in San Antonio, Texas, working primarily in the area of criminal defense while also handling civil disputes. In May of 2006, Mr. Kilgore joined the Denton County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. While at the District Attorney’s office, Sean participated in over 100 jury trials and argued countless motions to both District and County Judges.
In March of 2011, Sean joined the Kuzmich Law Firm. In his time with the firm, Mr. Kilgore has represented hundreds of clients in catastrophic injury cases, including wrongful death and permanent disability cases. He has successfully litigated cases against multi-million dollar corporations, private individuals, and public institutions whose negligence caused injury to everyday people in the community. Sean has obtained numerous substantial recoveries for a wide spectrum of clients in the personal injury arena.
Mr. Kilgore is also an Assistant City Prosecutor for Denton, Texas.
Mr. Kilgore is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before all Texas State Courts and the Federal Eastern District of Texas. He is a member of the Denton County Bar Association and the Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is a former member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.
